In the workshop “Start your own business in 30 minutes” we will kick-start you. We will work in groups to find engaging and innovative ideas that fit you. Culminating in a friendly 'pitch battle' with a prize for the winner! This workshop is organized by members of Lugus, the Leiden student entrepreneurship society. 
At Lugus, student entrepreneurs share support, expertise and resources. Our co-working space is located at Reuvensplaats 2, next to the Lipsius building.  Membership is €2,50 a month. It includes a working space with a fast internet connection, free coffee, free printing and access to regular events to help ideas and companies grow. We have a productive and interactive atmosphere.

Marjolein Sax works as a policy researcher at Panteia. She started working there in 2014, after finishing her master's degree in History. Marjolein works in the social department, where she studies social affairs. Clients of hers are the ministry of social affairs, ministry of health care and sports, local governments and sector associations. Recent research projects she worked on include a study on the cooperation between local governments and UWV on a regional level, neigboorhood teams for social affairs and the succes of local goverments in helping people with disabilities to find work.

In her workshop, Marjolein will tell you more about what her job entails, she will give some examples of recent research projects and together, we will write a research proposal based on a client's request.

Jazeker, het kan! Het kan in de vorm van een traineeship aan de Universiteit Leiden, Technische Universiteit Delft en de Erasmus Universiteit Rotterdam (LDE). Gezamelijk hebben zij een 2-jarig traineeprogramme opgesteld voor jonge professionals met een acedemische opleiding.

Als trainee krijg je de unieke kans om werkervaing op te doen in de bedrijfsvoering van meerdere universiteiten en je professioneel te ontwikelen binnen de academische omgeving. Daarnaast is er volop ruimte voor persoonlijke ontwikkeling. Een opleidingsprogramma en intervisiebijeenkomsten met collega LDE trainees maken deel uit van het traineeprogramma.

Je levert een waardevolle bijdrage in het faciliteren van het proces van onderwijs en onderzoek en brengt verbinding en vernieuwing in beleidsprocessen. Mogelijke opdrachten waar je aan kunt denken zijn opdrachten als projectmedewerker, beleidsadviseur en projectsecretaris binnen bijvoorbeeld de domeinen Human Resources, Finance, Onderwijs & Studentzaken, Strategic Development, Informatiemanagement en Communicatie. Sommige opdrachten zijn binnen en centrale afdeling, andere juist in de verschillende faculteiten.

Kevin de Kok received his Bachelor of Arts in History in 2004, and eventually graduated in European Union Studies in 2006. His first Job was at the Kenniscentrum Grote Steden (currently Platform 31), since 2008 he works for the municipality of Zoetermeer. He has filled different management positions through the years, and is currently team manager at the department of Public Affairs. This department takes care of requests for passports, drivers licences, and marriages, but also receives questionsabout for example construction permits.
